Moesha is a unique name to many. I often get asked of its origin or where my parents got the idea from. Well, my parents discovered the name whilst travelling America before I was born, as it is a popular name and was the title of a TV show - 'Moesha'. However, the true origins, which I deeply resonate with, say that my name is Hebrew, specifically meaning 'drawn from the water'.
I am an elite Australian swimmer, with a large competition presence both nationally and internationally. I train 35hrs a week on the Gold Coast, Australia. I am passionate about being an athlete but also about the person I am away from sport and the pool. Outside of the pool I am passionate about the environment, health, community and mentorship. The role and emergence of powerful female role
models is important to me and is something I'm passionate about - empowering younger women to be confident and step out in society.
I have been actively involved in youth outreach programs in my community and junior club programs as a mentor. I am continually looking to encourage other young people and peers to be healthy, outdoors and active.
Between swimming I love to being in the ocean, creating things, hanging in nature, adventuring, music, learning and meeting people whilst maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
I was also a student ambassador for Southern Cross University during my time studying, having graduated from a Bachelor of Biomedical Science.
Basically, to sum me up, I love what I'm doing and doing what I love all with all the excitement and passion in my being.
